I'm sure if I asked you to name some things you needed to detox from, you would have no problem with coming up with 2 or 3 things that you could do without. However, the type of detox I am talking about is a detox from social media. There’s no denying that social media has become a huge part of modern life. Apps like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and even Tik Tok help us stay connected with loved ones, catch up on news, and keep up with our favorite celebrities. Yet, endless scrolling can leave us feeling some type of way. Sometimes after a few innocent hours online you might find yourself feeling insecure, drained, anxious, or discontented. If you have ever found yourself feeling this way after skipping through your social media, then maybe it is time for you to think about taking some time to detox.

According to author Catherine Price, it is suitable to "Reflect on your habits and evaluate how social media makes you feel and how it impacts your life.” How does it impact your mood, your mental wellness, and your day. She continues on sharing from her book, How to Break Up with Your Phone: The 30-Day Plan to Take Back Your Life. "If, upon reflection, you're able to identify any negative effects that the apps have had on your life, then it’s time for a social media break."
